SO, WHAT IS THE BOWGRIP?
THE BOWGRIP is not just an accessory for archery. It is a training system that allows both the beginner archer to perfect their posture and string release technique, as well as the high-level athlete who wants to maintain their conditioning during trips where it is not possible to take their bow.
And it is also an excellent teaching resource for technicians starting out with the compound bow, as it can be taught how to correctly use the trigger without running the risk of any unwanted shooting with the real bow.
And even for advanced archers, the coach can monitor the athlete's movement during the aim by the BOWGRIP's built-in laser pointer.
TIPS FOR USE
Adjusting your draw length:
Using the 5/64" Allen wrench provided in the kit, loosen the screw on the triangular block to allow the string to run inside the block.
Shorten the rope enough so that it is shorter than your draw by at least 3 inches. Then attach the string to your trigger and bring it to the correct anchor position allowing the string to run to adjust to your pull. Tighten the screw enough so that the rope no longer runs.
Shot warm-up:
Using your ByTico trigger, hold THE BOWGRIP with your hand while attaching the string to the trigger. Take the trigger hand to its usual anchoring position and while using the normal holding force you would with the real bow, aim at a target through the Scope of your BOWGRIP, controlling the correct level on the bubble and try to maintain the trigger laser point aligned vertically with the Scope. This way, your torque on the BOWGRIP should be minimal.
Then gradually increase the force on your back until the trigger releases naturally, without sudden movements of the trigger button.
Strengthening Exercises:
Using an elastic band or some type of ankle weight, attach them to the BOWGRIP through the opening in the base and tie securely.
Proceed with alternating movements laterally to the body, raising the extended arm until the Scope reaches the aiming height, then lowering it.
Repeat the series movements as recommended by your trainer.
Also try Isometric exercises, supporting the weight for a few seconds.
You can also simulate trigger shooting using weights in the BOWGRIP.
